Eric Schmidt, Owner and Lead Landscape Designer
Meet Eric, a seasoned landscaping expert with over 40 years of experience in the field. With a passion for creating outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and functional, Eric has dedicated his career to helping homeowners and communities bring their landscaping visions to life. Throughout his extensive career, Eric has left his mark on the local landscape, contributing to the design of several parks and community spaces and over 2000 homes. Eric was born and raised in Phoenixville along with his four brothers. He is a second-generation owner of Colonial Gardens, started at the store when he was seven years old!
Zach Yodis, Landscape Designer and Foreman
Meet Zach, our landscape designer and foreman. Zach has been with Colonial Gardens’ landscaping division for over 10 years, leading our team’s professional installation of our designs. During his time here, Zach has developed a deep knowledge of plants and a passion for incorporating native plants into designs that look great and function well for the customer. Zach has a passion for time in nature and spent five months hiking the entirety of the Appalachian Trail.
John Sands, Nursery Sales Specialist and DIY Expert
Meet John, your DIY Landscape designer here at Colonial Gardens. No formal plans needed or home visit. Come in with some pictures and dimensions and he’ll put a plan together right in front of you. He’ll provide the right plants to suit your needs and the needs of the garden. John works with customers to construct a colorful, functional, and beautiful garden, creating a whole new look for your property. If you love his designs, but DIY seems too intimidating, we can easily make arrangements to come out and plant it for you.
